It takes a village to raise a child, but it takes a whole company to craft a soon-to-be classic like The Good Dinosaur.

November 20th, 2015

Disney Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur asks “What if dinosaurs never went extinct?”, but the real question is, “What if this movie never got made?” The trailers look amazing – fun, friends, family, and feels abound in this surefire hit. But wasn’t this movie supposed to come out like a year ago? Didn’t the original director leave or something? The answer to both questions is yes, but the reasons why are as surprising as they are interesting. In a candid interview with i09.com, the film’s final director Pete Sohn and producer Denise Ream discuss how TGD took many turns during its evolution into the gorgeous, heartwarming, dinosaur-and-his-dog-human tale that opens next Wednesday. Pixar’s just-released teaser rejoins Dory, Marlin, and Nemo as they struggle to unlock Dory’s long-dormant remembrances of her similarly-afflicted family. E! Online has the teaser, details, and 5 fun facts about the original Finding film: Read More

Magic can happen when VR meets storytelling, and Oculus Story Studio is demonstrating just that – one hedgehog hero at a time.

November 2nd, 2015

This isn’t what Freud had in mind when describing the hedgehog’s dilemma. Oculus Story Studio’s immersive tale of a tiny spiny loner named Henry might borrow slightly from the concept, but the eponymous virtual reality short is definitely more Pixar than psychology. One of the harbingers of VR as a valid storytelling medium, ‘Henry’ aims to demonstrate how this new technology is capable of taking a simplistic (and super cute) idea and turning it into a legitimate experience, rather than a souped-up cinematic. Read more about Henry’s adventure and what it means for VR as a whole over at Mashable.com, and see the tale for yourself when the Oculus Rift ships in 2016! Read More

Head over to the App Store now to download Toy Box 2.0, and look forward to bigger (but also awesomer) apps to come as devs expand their wares with the new limit! Read More.
